Joal Woodard Barbour, 54, of Kill Devil Hills, NC died on June 6, 2015 at his home. Born in San Diego, CA, he was the son of Luke Woodard Barbour and Sharron Luann Stevens. Joal was a jack of all trades.
Along with his parents Joal is survived by the love of his life, Mary Ann Newman; two sons, Brian Joal Barbour and Brett Woodard Barbour; two sisters, Wendy Barbour-Barrett and Vickie Luann Barbour; two brothers, Donald Clayton and Robert Russell; and six grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends and relatives at the home, 426 West Eden Street, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Outer Banks Relief Foundation, PO Box 545, Nags Head, NC 27959.

sorry for your lost, i have known joal for over 20 years are longer, i will miss him and so will alot of people that he touched, he always liked everyone, he was a good hearted person, i will miss him alot, but now he is in a better place with no pain, just happy up there with alot of people that has lefted us many years ago, and he is now probably up there seeing everyone, and probably now riding some, rip joal i will always love you, you have a special place in my heart , everyone has been posting pictures of you in those horse adventures that u did over the years, rip joal my dearest friend, your powder puff ( as you would say) love ya alot, toni norfleet-pfeiffer

My prayers are with everyone who’s lifes he has touched. He was an amazing man and I’m so blessesd to have known him. He was a man of many words (stories) and ONE OF A KIND!!! My promise to Grandpa Joel will be to make sure to pass on his legacy to his grandchildren. He will never be forgotten and we will miss him every single day.

So,so very sorry to hear this. I think of Joal every day. He was a big part of my life for many years. And , I have to say we had a very passionate relationship. I will continue to think of him and his family fondly forever. My sincere sympathy.
