I am sorry to hear of Joey’s passing. He was a neighborhood friend of mine back when we’re teenagers. I will not forget the bicycle races through the neighborhood, going to football games together, and riding in his red Corvair convertible. He always met you with a smile and a kind word. As we all,do, we move away and lose contact with people. We lost touch and we went on to our life’s paths. I never did forget him being a part of my teenage years. May God bless your family and Godspeed. Heaven will be a better place with him there.

I would like to offer my condolences to Joey’s family. I was a schoolmate of his at Northeastern High School. I have fond memories of him from him from school and seeing him around town. He was always smiling and never met at stranger, After school was out, and I believe he was working in Hertford at the Food Lion, I ran into him again. It was like we had seen each other just the day before. Then once again we lost touch. About 6 years ago I ran into him again on a regular basis and once again we just picked up where we left off. I am sorry to say that once again we lost touch. That is the kind of person he was. Once he was your friend you were his friend for life. He always had the nicest smile. I know your family will miss him but cherish your memories of him and he will always be with you no matter where you are. The world was a nicer place with Joey in it. God Bless You All.

Bonnie and Joey’s family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. When I saw Joey’s picture I knew I knew him. And then it clicked, it goes way back. Ms Bertha, Ms. Ruth, Bonnie and Joey coming to Uncle Leslie’s and Aunt “Mitt” Mildred’s. This family always was special even though as we grew up we didn’t see each other as much. However, when we do it’s not just acquaintances, it’s like family. My prayers for peace and comfort during this difficult time! Much love to you and your family. Denise
