John Willis Forbes, III, 70, of Hampton, VA died Saturday, February 16, 2019 at his residence. He was born July 8, 1948 in Pasquotank County to the late John Willis Forbes, Jr. and Evelyn Russell Forbes. He graduated from Manteo High School and attended College of the Albemarle. He was a Methodist and served in the U.S. Army for six years. He worked in the grocery field for over fifty years at Earls Food Stores and the Colonial Stores. He retired in 2010 as a sales representative for Kellogg Company.
He is survived by two sisters, Debbie Anderson (Jim) of Elizabeth City, NC and Angie Aydlett (Chris) of Edenton, NC; three nieces, Erin Anderson Edwards (Chris) and Heather Anderson all of Elizabeth City, NC and Rachel Cessna (Jerry) of Washington, NC; and a nephew, Ben Aydlett (Wrenn) of Fayetteville, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Edenton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Chris Aydlett, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall.
