Kathryn Turner Olds, 80, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 18, 2015.  A native of Perquimans, she was the daughter of the late Hobson Dewey Turner and Maude Butt Turner and the widow of George Olds.  She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in South Mills for most of her life and attended Shiloh Baptist Church for the past three years.

She is survived by two sisters, Virginia Dehart of Radford, VA, and Anne Terrell of Richmond, VA; a brother, Hobson D. Turner, Jr., of Richmond, VA; and a stepdaughter, Phyllis Vucina of Texas.

A funeral service will be Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel.  Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the funeral home lobby.  Memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, PO Box 100, South Mills, NC 27976.  Twiford Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is serving the Olds family.  You may express condolences to the family by visiting www.twifordfh.com.

We are very sorry to hear of Kathryn’s death. She was a fixture in the South Mills community, especially Trinity Methodist Church, for many years. She was well known and liked by the residents of the community. She and her family were friends when we were growing up and their memory lives on with us.
