She was preceded in death by “Buck” Brown, her husband of fifty-seven years; her infant sister, Julia Fetna Taylor; and her brother, Thomas Lambeth Taylor.

Louise was a lovely, gracious lady who was a good friend to my mother who was also named Louise. They worked on many projects for Newbegun, the bake sale among the most lucrative. At one point my mother, Louise Baker, worked at Brown’s orchard culling apples. I know all of you who loved her so much will miss her. I will to. God bless you all.

My condolences to the family. I was one of the Browns’ employees at the Apple Orchard. It was my first job, and I always considered Mrs. Brown a very considerate employer, even when my long fingernails would accidentally puncture the apples! May she rest in eternal peace.❤️❤️

My condolences to the family of Louise Brown. I, too, worked at the Apple Orchard with Ms. Brown in the year of 1985. She had a very gentle spirit and was so kind as to write me an excellent recommendation for my new job at Currituck Social Services. I have and always will be grateful for her doing that. May God comfort your hearts in your time of sorrow.

Louise was one of the first people we met when we first moved to Weeksville in 1999. In fact, soon after we moved into our home, she was knocking on our front door, one of her homemade cakes in hand, welcoming us to the community. She was a wonderful person and community neighbor. We will miss her dearly. Stan & Donna Colson
