Maude E. St. Jean, (née Annamarie Maude Ebner) daughter of Anna Ebner (née Nopp) and Leo Ebner, born March 27, 1922, in Passau, Germany, died on September 17, 2022, at the age of 100. Ms. St. Jean immigrated to the United States in 1926 to Peekskill, New York, for a brief period and settled in Huntington, Long Island, New York. Maude attended Huntington schools and graduated from Huntington High School in 1942. She later attended Katherine Gibbs in Manhattan. Maude worked as a secretary for Ranger Aircraft Engineering in Farmingdale, New York, where she met her future husband, Bruce W. Parmenter. In 1943 the couple moved to Somers, Connecticut. Their daughter, Candace Lee Parmenter was born in 1948 and a son, Bruce W. Parmenter, was born in 1950.
Maude married Roy A. St. Jean in 1958 and their daughter, Pamela B. St. Jean, was born in 1959. The family moved to Morristown, New Jersey in 1965 and Mrs. St. Jean worked as an assistant to the Principal of Madison High School for 19 years. Upon retirement, she moved to Lake Worth, Florida. After the September 11th tragedy, Maude moved to Connecticut to be closer to her daughter, Pam, and was delighted to have lived at a senior housing complex in Roxbury, Connecticut, for many years. At the age of 89, she moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia and later Moyock, North Carolina, where she lived with her daughter, Pam, son-in-law, Brian P. Moffatt, and step-granddaughter, Hailey A. Moffatt.
Ms. St. Jean is survived by her daughter, Pamela S. Moffatt, of Moyock, North Carolina, and her husband, Brian Moffatt, and step-granddaughter, Hailey Moffatt. She is survived by her grandson, Douglas E. Elmore, and his wife Jacqueline and two great-grandchildren, Madison and Hampton Elmore of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, and her granddaughter, Casey A. McKenna of Richmond, Virginia, as well as many nieces and nephews throughout the country. She is pre-deceased by her son, Bruce St. Jean and her daughter, Candace Elmore.
A memorial service will be held by the immediate family sometime in the future.
