Mike will be missed! We loved his infectious laugh and his sense of humor. We are sending our condolences to Connor, Kelly, Bell, Paige and the rest of the family. Our hearts are broken and it won’t be the same around the OBX without running into him and catching up. We love you guys and will keep you in our prayers during this tragic loss.
Linda & George Pearce, Manteo,NC
George and I send our sincere sympathy to Mike’s family and others who loved him. Seems like just yesterday his Mom and I sat on those bleachers at Manteo High and cheered for Mike and his teammates. My heart hurts for all, but especially for a mother who lost her boy.

I’m so sorry for your loss, Mike was like family to me and so many others, I will never forget the laughs and memories we’ve shared over the years. He was my first friend when I moved here, and will always and forever be in my heart.

I went to Manteo High school with Mike and Kelly but hadn’t really bumped into them over the years until their beautiful family moved next door a couple years ago. My son loves to play with Paige, and I got to know Connor through work at the high school and seeing him with his dad. We all had some pretty hilarious chats across the yard. Also, Mike and Connor helped me move a refrigerator into my house not long ago. I asked Kelly if Mike had a dolly I could borrow, and before I knew it, they were both coming up the stairs to move it themselves. Mike also fixed the hinges on my door that night. While he was there, we all laughed so much! I loved his political, and humorous views about things. I saw him every morning as he left for work and when he saw me, he always yelled “wasssssup!” I’ll miss that! As Conner said when I walked over to hug him, “it’s too quiet around here now.” He’s right, it is too quiet without hearing Mike coming and going each day. My heart breaks for all of them!
