
Pressley Thomas Steele, better known as Press, passed away on December 1, 2021, at his home in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. He was predeceased by his parents Pressley T. Steele and Helen Popovich Steele. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rosemary Iskula Steele and his brother Ronald Edward Steele of New Jersey.
Press grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and graduated from Allegheny High School. He received a bachelor’s degree from Slippery Rock University where he played soccer and was on an All-Star baseball team with Mike Ditka. He received a master’s degree from the University of Arizona.
He started his career in education at North Allegheny School district in Pittsburgh and went on to be a college professor of biological science at Villa Maria College and an instructor of student nurses at UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Press had a passion for art and was very talented! His works include paintings, wood and metal sculptures and furniture and was admired by all.
Press and Rosie shared life’s journey together traveling around the world creating wonderful memories.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or your local animal shelter.
