Richard Ernest Heinrich, 65, of Kill Devil Hills, NC died Sunday, April 4, 2021, at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.
Born in Norfolk, VA on February 14, 1956, he was the son of the late Estelle Grimes Heinrich and Walter Ernest Heinrich.
Richard was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #4506, Croatan Sport Shooters, the Cape Hatteras Anglers Club, and the North Carolina Beach Buggy Association.
He is survived by his wife, Denise Atkins Heinrich; two sons, Derek Heinrich of Kill Devil Hills, NC and Ricky Heinrich of Hertford, NC; two siblings, Dawn Lamb (John) of Sharpsburg, GA and Susanne Totherow of Dallas, GA; his mother-in-law, Frances Atkins of Portsmouth, VA; his stepmother, Janet Heinrich of Marietta, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no service at this time.

Denise, we are so sorry for your loss. Rich was a great guy..I remember the last time I saw Rich. We were bowling just before his surgery. I went up and put my hand on his shoulder and told him good luck and we were praying for him. He said thanks and that he would be back in two weeks. We really miss him.
