Rodney Gene Harris, Sr. age 59, of Poplar Branch, NC passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of June Harris Patterson of Suffolk, VA and the late Claude W. Harris, Jr. of Chesapeake, VA.
He started carpentry at the age of 16 and retired as a master carpenter several years ago. He always enjoyed fishing, water sports, and snowboarding and was very passionate about his Rock ‘N’ Roll music.
Rodney is survived by his mother, step-father Clyde “Pat” L. Patterson; sons, Rodney Gene Harris, Jr. and Allen Davenport; daughter, Jennifer Ward; sister, Cynthia L. Harris; step-brother, Chris Patterson; grandchildren, Peyton, Reagan, Riley, Alexandria, and Jayben; aunt and uncle Linda and Philip Patrick; aunt Phyllis Dowdy; cousins, Russell Dowdy and Justin Patrick; and extended family members, Joan and Pam West.
Rodney’s fun loving attitude about life was a blessing to us all and will be truly missed.
A graveside service for family and close friends will be held be held Friday, May, 20, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Laurel Memorial Gardens on Macedonia Church Road, Poplar Branch, NC 27965.
