Sherri Lynn Spears Hicks, 56 of the 100 block of Wedgewood Drive, Moyock, NC died Friday, June 26, 2015 at her residence. A native of Norfolk, VA, she was the daughter of the late Travis Benjamin Spears, Sr., and Barbara Webster Rozier and husband Neil Rozier of Chesapeake, VA. She was the widow of Leslie “Les” Eugene Hicks. She was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church, and had lived in Moyock for thirty-seven years. She had worked at C. A. Howard and Associates as a receptionist.
Besides her mother and step-father she is survived by a daughter, Stacy Hicks Ward and husband Shannon of Hertford, NC; a son Neil Allen Hicks, three sisters, Michelle Webster of Virginia Beach, VA, Angela Paddon of Mouton, AL, and Cindy Hemmell of Fairview Heights, IL; and two brothers, Eric Spears of Hertford, NC and Neil Lee Rozier of Chesapeake, VA.
A memorial service will be Friday, July 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Rehoboth Baptist Church with the Rev. F. Joe Griffith and Mr. David Sawyer officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. Memorial donations may be made to Rehoboth Baptist Church, PO Box 56, Maple, NC 27956.
