Timothy Patrick Mooney, age 71, of Elizabeth City, NC died on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at his home surrounded by family. Born in Paterson, NJ on February 19, 1951 to the late William Patrick Mooney and Louise Mary Carrona Mooney, he was the beloved husband of forty-three years to Joanne Helen Hofmann. Mr. Mooney served his country honorably in the U. S. Navy and then continued working for the U. S. Government as an Auditor. He was a past Commander for the American Legion Post # 84 of Elizabeth City, NC. A member of Holy Family Catholic Church, he enjoyed traveling and loved his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Sara Silva (John) of Virginia Beach, VA; a son, Marc Mooney of Elizabeth City, NC; two brothers, James Mooney (Connie) of Ft. Myers, FL, and Kenneth Mooney (Deanna) of Maywood, NJ; and three grandchildren, Ethan and Ryder Silva and Madelyn Chlebnikow.

A memorial service will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Nick Cottrill officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or The St. Anthony Foundation, 150 Golden Gate Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94102-3810.
