This year’s 18th annual Dare County Memorial Service (held on Sunday, December 8, 2019), co-sponsored in part by Dare Hospice and Twiford Funeral Homes, LLC, is an amazing opportunity to honor and remember those we have lost. Gathered at the beautifully scenic Roanoke Island Festival Park, those in attendance observed a moment of silence and lighting of candles for the loss of loved ones due to opioids and suicide as well as those who selflessly served our country. An inspiring homily was spoken by Rev. Charles Daly and David H. Twiford, Jr. recited Alfred Lord Tennyson’s “Crossing the Bar”. This year’s service theme was guided by the quote “Seashells remind us that every passing life leaves something beautiful behind.” Following the service, all are invited for a time of fellowship and refreshments.
Twiford Funeral Homes, LLC would like to thank Dare Hospice nurses, volunteers, chaplains and all who make up this wonderful organization not only for providing such a wonderful annual memorial service but for the work they do throughout the year providing love and support during the most difficult time in one’s life.
