David H. Twiford, CEO of Twiford Funeral Homes announced that Joe Griffith, funeral director with Twiford Funeral Homes, was presented this prestigious award for the twenty-fourth consecutive year at the 2011 NFDA National Convention in Chicago, IL. The National Funeral Directors Association annually recognizes funeral homes for their outstanding community service, professional integrity and high ethical standards. Only two percent of all funeral homes in the United States receive the Pursuit of Excellence award annually. Twiford Funeral Home is one of only 10 funeral homes in the entire United States and Canada to receive the Pursuit of Excellence Award a minimum of 20 consecutive years. Achieving the Pursuit of Excellence Award, a funeral home must meet the requirements in nine different categories. Categories range from education, to compassionate service, technical skills, community and professional service, library or media resources, professional development, in-house staff training, and public and community relations
