Valerie Jill Hardison, 61 of Elizabeth City, NC died Monday, June 6, 2022, at her residence. She was born June 16, 1960, in Norfolk, VA to Ruby Whichard Hardison of Virginia Beach, VA, and the late Herbert Lee Hardison. She was a retired correctional officer from the Pasquotank Prison and a member of The Salvation Army.
She is survived by a son, Bradley Herbert Hardison (Elizabeth), of Elizabeth City, NC; five sisters, Deborah Johnson, Terry Smith, Cindy Weddle, Kim Green, and Jeaniene Evans; and four grandchildren, Cheyanne Skye Hardison, Tristan A. Hardison, Ryder A. Hardison, and Lillith R. Hardison. She was predeceased by a sister, Emily Hardison.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at The Salvation Army Church with Major Kenneth Clewis officiating. I am so sorry for your families loss. From the first day we met in middle school we always had so many fun times and a lot of good memories. You were always there from introducing me to Ralph to our wedding to sleeping in the waiting room when I was having. Our first baby. We always kept in touch on the phone and online through the years. You were such a special friend and will be missed so much by so many people. Love you Val. ❤️

I miss my Grammy so much, she was my best friend and the biggest light in my life, her spirit will live in all of us, i will forever love my Grammy and i promise to make her proud, she was grateful for everyone positive in her life that made it even better, she was so strong, and i will continue to live for her. thank you everyone for your condolences, We love you Grammy!
